When I was a kid, I lived for the weekends. No school, no homework--two full days to just play!
To start it of right, I'd always watch Looney Tunes on Saturday mornings. Bugs Bunny was the star, and everything always seemed to work out in his favor. I remember him talking smack about his enemies, and he'd describe them by saying, "What a maroon!"
Of course, by "maroon," he meant "moron," and that was part of the joke.
Well, I felt kind of like a maroon after I first looked at these outfit photos. I loved all the maroon in the outfit, but something was a bit off.
While other outfit photos taken subsequently made it on the blog, these sat in a folder on my computer for weeks.
I took a look at them last night and realized what I didn't like about them: I had thrown on a greenish brown hat to cover my messy hair that just didn't quite work with the outfit the way I had hoped. So, I cropped it out, and--voila!--it's this outfit's turn to be posted.
Here it is in all of its maroon glory. And I no longer think I look like a maroon!

Ashley, this is such a beautiful color on you! Thanks for nominating me for a Liebster Award by the way, that is super duper sweet of you :) I will have to take some time and answer the questions so I can pass it forward. But I really appreciate it so much, you are such a sweet girl! With great style I might add ;) Have an awesome weekend!!!

Thanks! I just checked out your blog, and I adore your colorful style! :)
DeleteAh, this took me back to my love affair with Saturday morning Looney Tunes :) I really love this look and you did a great job of making me not even realize there was a hat missing! I often forget how good monochrome looks can be and this is a great reminder. So cute!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! The color of the dress and tights was so similar, I couldn't not wear them together! ;)
DeleteAw I love Looney Tunes! The maroon on maroon tones here are so pretty. I think this is the same dress I swapped a while back via one of the Flock Together girls...it looks so gorgeous on you, especially with the added pop of color in the bag :-)
ReplyDeleteAww, thanks so much! I just went back and tried to find the Flock Together post, but I didn't have any luck. I love the swaps though, and the way you girls style the same piece to make it your own. :)
