She could crochet the simplest things, like a pot holder or washcloth, and make them look beautiful.
When I was in college in Virginia, I asked her to crochet a winter hat for me. I printed out a picture of what I wanted it to look like, bought the softest mint green yarn I could find, and handed everything to her. Within a week, I had the cutest little beanie I've ever owned.
My grandma passed away a few years ago, and I miss her every day, but I'm so glad I have some of her hand crocheted items that still remind me of the love and care she showed to me and others throughout her life. (I may or may not be getting teary-eyed right now.)
Anyway, I wanted to publish another outfit post today, but my hair was a mess, so I threw on this hat and built my outfit around it. The dress and blouse are both from ModCloth, which is perfect because I'll be posting one of the pictures below to the ModCloth Style Gallery.
The Style Gallery is a place where you can share your own outfit photos with others in the ModCloth Community. Any outfit is accepted--the clothes don't have to be from ModCloth!
Recently, ModCloth added a special feature to the Style Gallery that allows you to follow your favorite contributors. They're having a Follow Your Faves Contest through Jan. 27 to promote follows. The most-followed contributor gets a $100 gift certificate.
Check out the Style Gallery to see what it's all about, and while you're there, give my profile a follow!

DeleteLove that hat, beyond adorable!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, friend! It's perfect for this cold weather we've been having. It needs to warm back up!
DeleteCute outfit, and love the pop of red in the purse! That's so sweet about your grandmother knitting you that hat! :) That's nice that you have things like that you can hold on to, and remind you of her.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the nice comment on my blog! You have those shoes, too??! I loveeee them so much!
And I actually do not have a badge...I'm not sure how to even make one! I really don't know much about blogging, even though I've been doing it almost a year! Ha. But, I can add yours to my page.
Thanks so much! She was a great lady. Yes, I've had those shoes for more than a year now and still haven't worn them yet. You've inspired me to get them out of my closet and style them! I would love for you to share my badge on your blog. Thanks for offering! Making one isn't too difficult, although there are a lot of steps--I Googled how to do it. Here's a tutorial if you'd like to try it: http://www.mypregnancybaby.com/how-to-make-blog-button-code/. Then, I could share whatever you create on my blog. :)
