Spring Forward!

This outfit is all about Spring.

Although the first day of Spring is technically March 20, setting our clocks forward for Daylight Saving Time over the weekend signals the start of the season for me.

Of course, it's always summer when you live in Florida, but I'm looking forward to seeing more spring-time looks out of my wardrobe and in other blogs. I know everyone further north can't wait for warmer temps so they can say goodbye to all the snow they've been seeing.

Let's talk about this cool, psychedelic necklace by ViviDot via Etsy. I was first introduced to Molly Hooper's unique designs by ModCloth. I bought a couple of her pieces that way, and when I went back to look for more, her designs were gone. :( But much to my delight, one of my favorite bloggers, Marisa Noelle of The Shades of Monet Chronicles, linked to Molly's Etsy shop in one of her latest posts (Outfits: Doubling Up)!

I immediately found this necklace, which I adored, but I wondered if Molly could use a silver-colored chain instead of the antiqued brass one that it came with. I sent her a message, and she got back to me within the hour with a picture of two silver-colored options. The one I chose ended up being sterling silver, and Molly gave me tips on how to keep it from tarnishing and didn't even charge me extra for the more expensive metal!

I'm just super impressed by her design aesthetic, her magnificent craftsmanship, and her customer care. Thanks, Molly!

The 'Wheel' Deal on My Bicycle Outfit

Like that title? I absolutely stole "'wheel' deal" from ModCloth's cute description of the Ride Here, Right Now Dress.

The quirky bicycle print on this dress inspired the styling of my accessories and the photos. It's a bit of bike overload, but I'm not apologizing!

I've been riding my bike a lot lately for exercise, and I love that Cleo can come along with me in the basket. It might look like a tight fit with all her fluff, but she's perfectly content to sit in her little compartment and take in all the sites as we ride through the neighborhood.

Although it's gotten pretty cold here the past couple days, Florida has the perfect weather to facilitate year-round bike rides. And to wear this adorable dress.

The dress comes with its own belt, but I wanted something more substantial.

High Tops and Lowlights

I wouldn't call my style sporty by any means, but when I saw these Gola Liberty high top sneakers on clearance on American Eagle's website, I had to have them.

 

I was first introduced to Liberty of London when Target brought it to the masses in 2010. I went crazy for the cute, colorful prints and ended up with a few items that I still consider standouts in my wardrobe.

So, I was pumped for the shoes to arrive at my door. But once they did, I wasn't sure what I would wear them with. I rock a lot of 50s- and 60s-style dresses, and I couldn't think of a way to make these kicks work with that type of look.

I decided instead to wear them with basic black skinnies and a top with just a touch of blue. It's about as sporty as I'll ever get.

I also went darker with my hair a few days ago to better match my brunette roots.
